Brodner's Cartoon du Jour: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

May 30, 2008

The Hitler Business isn't what it used to be. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got a swift kick in his jihad this week when his chief rival, Ali Larijani, was elected speaker of the Iranian parliament by a landslide. Too bad. It's a loss to the McNeocains of the world as well as to the world of illustration. Where will we find another like him? So crazy-ugly-crazy. Ali loves nukes too, however, but doesn't seem to be a mental patient and apparently is okay with talking with his enemies. TIMES STORY

Ali Larijani appears to be a shoo in as long as he doesn't have one of those pesky Ayatollahs or spiritual mentors, spewing hateful rhetoric. Oh wait, over there, that might be a good thing.

He is not as bad as the image the controlled media is trying to project. He never said the famous quote "wipe Israel off the map". He only was predicting regime change in Israel. Mainly it was a prediction not even a wish. I am not saying he is the best leader. But give the guy a break. Remember what they news media kept repeating about Sadam’s Alqaida connection. Even after absolutely no connection was found. Most people still believe there was strong connection! These days misinformation is a big business. One must be careful not to be used as a tool in spreading rumors. This is nothing new in regard to Iran. Back in 1953, their very first democratically elected prime minister was called many names including lunatic and mad man. Times Magazine named him Mad Man of the Year with a mean looking retouched cover photo. His main fault was that he nationalized the countries oil. In general when it comes to small countries with a lot of natural resources, the more the their leader is dedicated to the interest of their own country, the more he or she is criticized and even hated by mostly other nations media.

i request western media not to insult any muslim leaders as ther are many ways to remove them from earth in order to make it a peaceful place but maocking them by cartoons is not appreciable.
