According to Parsley, there's no coexisitng with Muslims. He tells the tale of a Christian man who once dared to sell land to a mosque rather than to a church—an ominous sign that Christianity is losing the struggle against Islam. "You need to understand today" who was responsible for 9/11, Parsley nearly shouts. "Muslim Islamic fundamentalists and extremists are what did that, and your government and politicians and preachers want you to snuggle up next door to them and allow them to build a mosque next door to your church, while you sing hallelujah."
The preacher paints a dark picture:
Islam is growing rapidly and is becoming more violent. America has historically understood herself to be a bastion against Islam in the world…History is crashing in upon us...Americans need to wake up...We can tell you...Britney Spears' lyrics to her latest CD. But we don't know anything about other religions...'We ought to just all get along'...'We shouldn't say anything about other faiths.' Excuse me. Excuse me. The fact is that Americans are woefully ignorant of other faiths. This is not only tragic. But when it comes to Islam, now the greatest religious enemy of our civilization and the world, it's dangerous.
The problem, Parsley insists, is not radical Muslims who have hijacked a faith, but the religion itself:
I must state three important truths...No. 1, the God of Christianity and the God of Islam are two separate beings...Mr. Bush, I support you. You need to stop saying that the God of Islam and the God of Christianity are the same God...No. 2, Muhammad received revelations from demon spirits, not from the living God. No. 3, Islam is an anti-Christ religion that intends, through violence, to conquer the world. Did you get those three truths?
In a long riff, Parsley maintains that Muhammad was tricked by a demon into believing that he had heard the word of God. Thus, he asserts, the entire religion of Islam is based upon a satanic deception: "Muhammad was tragically beset by a demon which he mistook for the living God. He thus became a mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil...There are so few who will talk about [this]."
But Parsley is willing. And he also readily offered McCain his endorsement during that February 26, 2008, campaign rally in Cincinnati. At the event, McCain extolled Parsley for his "leadership" and "guidance." Since then, McCain aides have said that the senator's acceptance of Parsley's endorsement was not an endorsement of Parsley's views. And they have dismissed any comparison between Reverend Wright and Reverend Parsley, noting that McCain has never attended a service conducted by Parsley. But imagine if Barack Obama had campaigned with an imam who had called for destroying Christianity. A media and political uproar would ensue—with wide-ranging calls for Obama to condemn the imam.
McCain has also refused to reject the endorsement he received from the Reverend John Hagee, a Texas-based televangelist who referred to the Catholic Church as "the great whore" and a "false cult system" and who called Hurricane Katrina retribution from God for the sins of New Orleans' homosexual residents. But Parsley may be the more politically crucial pastor for McCain. McCain probably cannot win Ohio in November without the support of large numbers of social conservative voters. In 2004, Parsley, whose megachurch boasts thousands of members, led so-called values voters to the polls, where they helped propel George W. Bush to victory over John Kerry. If McCain were to repudiate Parsley, he would risk losing Parsley as a surrogate and, perhaps worse, alienate his flock. So McCain has ducked, keeping quiet about an anti-Islam extremist who repeatedly proclaims in sermons, "I will be silent no more."

When will you learn that, when you are on the side of right (as MJ usually is), you don't need to embellish the facts? The fact is that his comments on Islam show that this preacher is a bigot. The Jew comment may or may nor be bigoted. So leave it. You hav better evidence.
Has not Obama shown that people might be getting sick of hyperbole? Statements like this will suck the credibility right out of any story.
McCain continues to claim that the same standard shouldn't be applied to him as Obama because "he never attended these sermon..." But when you think about it, doesn't it make it worse?
I for one, am not going to assume that I know what went on in Trinity for the past twenty years, or ask Obama for an accounting of each service he attended, but at least Obama had a relationship with Rev. Wright.
With McCain, there is no real relationship (as he readily admits). He sought out Hagee's and Parsley's endorsements to get votes. I'll even let him claim ignorance about not knowing of either Reverends' views before he sought the endorsement. But now, after everything that has happened with Obama, for him to simply say he doesn't agree with their views, but is "happy" to have their endorsements, I say cut the bull[deleted].
This is yet another instance where McCain has sacrificed his principles for political expediency. And for that reason "my friends" I will NEVER vote for him.
If any of you haven't seen Hagee's sermons, you are missing out on some funny sh*t. You have to see this fat tub of hate wandering around his richly decorated mega-church spewing out his ignorance. Do some channel surfing in the morning and see if you can find a channel that broadcasts them. Gives you something to watch waking up to a lack of extended cable.
It may have been through Mother Jones, but if you look around youtube you'll find some interesting clips of a jew trying to interview Hagee during a Christian/pro-Israel conference. There weren't that many people there but its hysterical and yet mind-boggling watching these people (assuming they're Christrians) waving around the American and Israeli flags. Especially considering something like us giving them military technology and then they go off and sell it to China.
Defending Taiwan should be interesting.
Where is the coverage of Hagee and Parsley compared to Wright? Where is their coverage of McCain's flip-flop on Bush's tax cuts, his 100 year war comment, or his confusion over Sunnis and Shias? If anything, the mainstream media races to cover up these blunders.
MSNBC and PBS are the only possible exceptions, but for me and my family, television has ceased to be a reliable source for news ever since it morphed into a propaganda vehicle for the right.

attacked the Greek/Russian/Antioch

Why hasn't Parsley and Hagee gotten the attention of Wright? Video. No one asked about Wright before the video got in the hands of every TV channel. Parsley's content might be the same in the video and the book, but TV doesn't do books. Now that it's on video, it might get out there, though with the caveat that TV might decide viewers are tired of paster controversies.
Why should we get into this when we thought Wright was overblown? Because these guys are truly dangerous. Though Wright went too far in accusing the US of mass murder, at least he was denouncing mass murder, while these guys are calling for it. Moreover, Wright wasn't connected to the circles of national power, and he's especially out now, but McCain's pastors are influential and should he win, they'll have access to the White House and the president.

As a Christian, I really wish that people like this would just detach and dissociate themselves entirely from Christianity and start a new cult religion (because that's really what he's doing, it's NOT Christianity any more that's spurting out of his mouth!) rather than still call themselves Christian and set back for years the cause of Christianity; to spread the message of hope, love and PEACE from Jesus Christ!
And if McCain gets the presidency... with a radical ("fundamentalist" if you like...) preacher like this behind him... I'm at least a tiny little bit terrified at the thought of the types of conflicts/ wars (let's call it "Crusades take#2" for now...!) that might ensue...
I'm a Christian and always will be. But I do have Islamic and even atheistic friends... Sure, I wish they were Christians too, I pray for them lots, but I'm sure as there is a hell, that I'm not going to stand for a holy war being declared on them! And any "Christian" that tries to state that it's Christianity's aim/goal to do as such, is seriously misreading the Bible and going against everything Jesus stood for and taught the world. And is also, incidentally, tarnishing the image of Christians globally and in effect, really being the cause/ catalyst of a war with Islam...

I believe that you do have similarities with my religion (for example, the Bible's Old Testament overlaps I believe with a lot of your scriptures). In any case, also know that not all Christians are like this brainwashed Parsley. Christianity is NOT out to destroy ANY religion (least of all Islam which is close to Christianity). Peace is key in Christianity (as I'm sure it is in your religion too). I pray that God will silence the voice of war and hatred that is so apparent in people like this pastor Parsley.

It's easy for an incurious self-righteous racist xenophobe (you know, the typical Bush supporter) to take Parsley quite seriously. These are Clinton's "non-college graduated hard-working white people," all of whom voted against the n!gger in the primary and will flee to the old white man in the general election, even if Clinton were to steal the nomination at this late date.
McCain can't afford to ruffle their feathers, so he'll stand by his men, which is why Obama should pin him to the mat on this one in the media. Now. Like a dog with a bone: make him eat his words of support or make him stand by them in the face of these facts.
Obama won't convince the racists to vote for him, but he could well sway clear-thinking independents who might be inclined to give McCain more credit than he deserves based on all the sugary hype promulgated by the corporate controlled media.

In my 30+ years in India I have worked with, fraternized with, and travelled with Muslims, and never have I been or felt threatened, intimdated or scorned as a Christian.
India has the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world-greater than Pakistan's.
It is time for Americans to open their eyes to the reality of the world, not the narrow confines of American journalism.
Muslims are not our enemies, they have not vowed to destroy America. Radicals have, and McCann's pastor buddy, Rev. Parsley is no different than a radical Muslim-neither deserves respect or is a credible representative of his religion.
Twenty-first century man is no more sophisticated than our primitive ancestors, and even more easily propagandized by the forces of fascism with the media tools they have come to own. If we allow, nay, enable them to mislead us into pseudo-holy war in these times when we should be more enlightened as a race of being, and with potential for more enlightened and studiously informed leadership than could ever have been expected in human history, perhaps we don't deserve anything better than the madness and chaos they will bring, indeed are bringing.
John McCain, Bush Lite, Bush in McCain's Clothing, will perpetuate the fascist agenda, aided and abetted by pseudo-Christian leaders, greedy commercial leaders, media leaders, and leaders of families who are so unstudied as to be blind-faith followers of whatever propaganda these flag-draped pseudo-holy men and women spew upon them.
We are a long way over the edge and down that slippery slope, evidenced by the fact media and political spokesmen seem unable to speak intelligently about the issues, or even to identify real issues. McCain had no backing, couldn't even put gas in the "Straight-Talk Express" bus. He wasn't even in the debates with all those other candidates spending millions of dollars to run for President. Suddenly McCain was meeting with the President, making junkets to Iraq where he asked soldiers to risk their lives protecting him while he had photo-ops in the markets of Bagdad. Suddenly all the other candidates disappeared, conceded defeat to the President-Select, John McCain. And no one seems to think that's incredibly odd, not even those who spent millions of their own dollars to run.
McCain came home and lied to the American people, telling them they could go to Bagdad and walk around just like he did. When advised by the reporter that most of the American people polled were against the war he said the most revealing thing possible: "I don't care what the American people think." Translated, that means, 'I don't want to be the President of the American people. I will be the President, the personal property, a puppet of the fascist gang of violent extremists whose lies misled us to Iraq, who are looting the US treasury, and whose sinister agenda is the destruction of representative Constitutional democracy in the United States, and totalitarianism there and around planet Earth.' Well, that's a rough translation, but you get the idea. The pseudo-Christians will be surprised to find themselves in the extermination camps along with all the rest of us. Perhaps the fascists will repay them for their aid and succor with the kindness of gassing them last.

In the interests of full disclosure: I was raised a Catholic in a mixed (Catholic / Protestant) marriage, and am now an agnostic tending towards atheism - the more so from seeing all this garbage... in fact, I am contemplating methods (short of suicide, at the moment) of resigning from humanity as I did from the Most Holy and Apostolic Mom Church...
I would suggest that you engage meet and engage some none-radical Muslims, and get to know them. I think you would find, as I have that they are "just people" - like you, me, and our own families and friends.
I also suggest that you meet and get to know some people like Rev. Parsley - get to really know them - and you may find yourself with a different opinion of him and people like him.
I agree with several other comments here that religion is often used as a tool to divide and confuse people, not to educate or raise them up.
"Religious" extremism and hatred, whether Muslim, Christian, or any other flavor, is repugnant and repellant - and "Revs." Parsley, his gay-hating (and gay!) predecessor Haggard, Hagee (funny how many seem to have "hag" embedded in their names!) et al, are just as dangerous and atrocious as the worst Muslim extremist in the world...
I think Wright's problem is arrogance, and the American people's problem is ignorance.
I do not disagree with a lot of what Wright says, but I disagree with the funk of arrogance that swirls about when he delivers it.
to an extent, I have to agree with Parsley, too. A destruction of Islam. but lets not stop there, lets defenestrate the whole lot until humanity is the only thing we believe in.
I have heard that Parsley also made outrageous statements in the wake of Hurricane Katrina stating that New Orleans was purposely destroyed by God for sanctioning homosexuality. I don't know how he reconciles the fact that the French Quarter, the greatest bastion of gay pride here, is still standing unscathed while the areas that were destroyed were the communities that housed families (rich & poor, Demos & Repubs) here, just like any other place in America. The hypocrisy of people who claim to be religious continues to astound me. I would like to see those statements publicized. It worries me that current polls show that in Louisiana, Hillary would beat McCain, while McCain easily beats Obama. I worry that this may ultimately be the case throughout the southern states. Now that Hillary seems to be going down, I wish that my first choice, John Edwards was still in the race. I believe that if he had been on top of the ticket in 2004, the Democrats would have beaten Bush despite all of the Republicans' dirty tricks to win. I loved Obama 4 years ago, but I like him less and less now. Still I plan to vote for the Demo ticket, but I know many others who will go with McCain or abstain from voting if Hillary's out of the running. I think that the Democratic party leadership is on crack.

viewed Hannity as nothing more then a blow hard neo-conservative, who

recent events have provided us with further insight into what makes Sean
Hannity tick, this information comes in the revelation of Hannity's long
time friendship with neo-Nazi mainstay Hal Turner.
Hal Turner, Hannity's close confidant, has acknowledged that indeed he
has known Hannity quite well, and for many years. This comes on the
heels of Hannity's initial claims that he didn't know Hal Turner, the
Nazi/White Supremacist...

Hannity's claim that he did not know Hal Turner came as news to a lot of
people, including of course, Hal Turner. Who earlier today discussed
their close friendship on his blog, Turner writes in great detail about
his past with Hannity:

a church whose Reverend Wright espouses anti-American and racist views.
One media outlet that has been especially critical of Obama has been the
show "Hannity & Colmes" on Fox News Channel.
On Wednesday, March 19, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther
Party appeared as a guest on "Hannity & Colmes" to discuss the Obama /
Reverend Wright controversy. During that appearance, Sean Hannity asked
Shabazz if Barak Obama shouldn't be judged by his past affiliations with
Reverend Wright, to which Shabazz replied by asking Sean Hannity "Should
you be judged by your past association with Hal Turner, a neo-Nazi?"
I was quite disappointed when Sean Hannity at first tried to say he
didn't know me and then went on to say that I ran some senate campaign
in New Jersey. In fact, Sean Hannity does know me and we were quite
friendly a number of years ago.
When Hannity took over Bob Grant's spot on 77 WABC in New York City, I
was a well-known, regular and welcome caller to his show. Through those
calls, Sean and I got to know each other a bit and at some point, I
can't remember exactly when, Sean gave me the secret "Guest call-in
number" at WABC so that my calls could always get on the air.
When I utilized that call-in number, Sean would very often come onto
that line during commercial breaks so we could chat before I went on the
air. Our off-the-air chats grew to an exchange of other phone numbers,
me giving Sean my home and cellular number and Sean giving me his direct
dial-in number at Fox News channel.
In 1993, My wife got pregnant and around a month later, Sean reported
that he and his wife were expecting their first child. We got to talking
about things expectant dads talk about and the relationship grew.
My wife gave birth to our son in June 1994, Sean's wife gave birth to
their child about a month later.
Over the course of the next three or four years, Sean and I spoke
regularly off the air about our kids, politics and news of the day. My
on-air calls to his show remained regular and welcome.
Around 1997, Sean invited me and my then-three-year-old-son, to come to
Fox News Channel to be in the studio (NOT ON THE AIR) during a live
broadcast of "Hannity & Colmes". I accepted the invitation and my son
and I went. We were inside the studio standing between the camera men as
the show aired live. We got to speak with both Sean Hannity and Allan
Colmes before the show. Like most three year olds, my son's willingness
to stay quiet didn't last, so I thought it best to take him home rather
than have his noise air during their show.
Sean and I spoke by phone the next day. I thanked him for the chance to
be there and he said it was a real pleasure meeting me and my son.
In the year 2000, I sought the Republican nomination to the US House of
Representatives from the 13th Congressional District of New Jersey.
Since I was a candidate for federal office and since WABC served the
area in which I was running for election, WABC was FORCED by federal law
to accept my campaign radio ads, many of which were quite explicit. The
station did not want to air the ads but the law left them no choice.
At about the same time, WABC changed program directors from John
Mainelli to Phil Boyce. It seems to me that Mr. Boyce objected
vehemently to my campaign commercials and political beliefs and I
suspect he told Sean Hannity that I was not to be welcomed on WABC
anymore. Since Boyce had the power to fire Hannity, it appears to me
that Hannity did what he was told. From that point on, Sean Hannity
never spoke to me again. Not on the air or off.
can tell you from my firsthand, personal experience that Sean Hannity
does, in fact, agree with many of my political and social views. You can
figure that out easy enough on your own! Suffice it to say that my
recollection is that when Sean and I spoke by phone, while no one else
was listening, he and I exchanged the kinds of views that most White,
Irish-Catholic guys hold, but won't speak in public.
In my opinion, based on my first hand experience, I believe Sean Hannity
is, in fact, a Hal Turner sort of guy. It seems to me that a big
difference between Sean and me is that I am willing to say publicly what
I think about savage Black criminals, diseased, uneducated illegal
aliens and the grotesque cultural destruction wrought by satanic jews
while Sean and many others keep quiet to protect their paychecks."

Put DOWN the religious literature, and slowly back away...
You are absolutely correct that Senator McCain has gotten a free pass from the MSM regarding the endorsements from these religious quacks -- but there's no need to weaken your argument with nonsensical red herrings.
The questions for Senator McCain are: Does he believe in the First Amendment? Does he believe that the United States is engaged in a struggle against Islam as opposed to extremists who are Islamic? Why does he seek out so-called Christian pastors with such Unchristian messages? What have the "agents of intolerance" done since 2000 to warrant Senator McCain's enthusiastic embrace in 2008? If these endorsements are merely a reflection of his campaign's inadequate vetting process, as the campaign has claimed, what assurances are there that a President McCain would properly vet his nominations to the Supreme Court, Cabinet, etc.? These are legitimate questions that directly address Sen. McCain's ability to govern.
Who knows, maybe the Reverends Wright, Hagee and Parsley are correct in their doctrinal claims. That, however, should have nothing to do with the political process. But the relationship of the candidates to these "men of the cloth" who spout a hate-filled message, and what that says about their character should indeed have a bearing on the voters' decision.
Unlke Wright, this preacher won't lose McCain the Jewish vote.
None of the major candidates have good strategies for dealing with Islamic countries. I listened to the Green candidate, McKinney. If I understood correctly, she got "eliminated" from congress because of asking too many questions about Iraq.

I do feel that Pastor Hagee is about so much more than gay bias or anti-feminism. Those people at his church are a more complex quilt than you might think. When you insult Hagee, you are also insulting lots of well-intended, intellegent Christians whom you know little about.
To win an election, politicans need to address many different types of people and they need to visit "centers" of the communities they want to win. I think McCaine had a very legitimate reason to visit the Cobblestone Church, to visit with his potential voters. He respects Pastor Hagee for many good reasons, and it's time to find those reasons are. Hagee is tremendously well liked and regarded person, whether you like him or not. Isn't it time to learn the "other" face of Hagee out why he is liked above and beyond the your personal perceptions? I'll bet McCaine has visited many different churches, synogoges and mosques and knows how to tolerate them, so he can relate to his country better.

The problem is widely mentioned in the networld that the video will automatically exit when you are watching it (including myself) and it couldn’t continue to be played where the video exits. I really want to know what causes the problem. Is it due to the conversion problem of the software or the original video? Sometimes the problem comes up and sometimes not, same as using other software. just for the same video, when using different software, or trying different software to convert the some video, the same problem comes up from time to time.
